It is yet another place on the internet that I am advertising my design and illustration services. This site is meant to work locally to help people in my own area find me and utilize my graphic services. Isn’t that great? I think so.

Here is a graphic that I made for http://bobthecomic.net/. It’s part of a website overhaul that, as of now, has not occurred. My hope is that one day it will.
Till then, enjoy.

The Hilliard logo design project also included a business card design. This design went through several iterations itself, but I am only posting three of the stronger options from the second to last round of revisions. The final choice is a refined version of one of the three cards below.

Round two of the Hilliard logo design. My client decided that she wanted a ‘japanese’ feel and suggested that I work with a lotus or a bonsai. The logo at the top of the sheet was selected and I refined it a bit.

Here are a few unused logo designs that i created for a recent client. My direction was to use earth tones and involve trees/nature. My client works in southern california and she wanted to capture look and feel of her surroundings. The red logo at the top of the sheet moved on to round two.

Coco cthulhu, the forgotten monster cereal. It was pulled off the shelves because it made children’s mouths bleed. Also it drove some people crazy. Although it should be said that it still tasted better than Fruite Brute.

I did to somewhat similar t-shirt designs for the great local texas band called Caches the Ghosts. It’s always fun working with bands. You get to work with creative passionate people, you get paid and you get a free t-shirt. The guys are only going to print one of these designs but i’m putting both in my blog so you can see what you can’t have. I am a stinker, i know. BUt maybe, just maybe, you favorite shirt will be the one that gets printed.

Fun commission gig for a motorcycle ride. I tried to find a really good local printer for my client and found the guys at Do for it design. They were really cool and made me a great deal on a small custom order. Sadly i couldn’t go with them because while I was looking for the best deal, my client found their own printer(who also did an awesome job, btw). But if your in the denton/ft worth area and need a good affordable t-shirt printer, go here.
Bob’s sticker promotion

Recently, I was lucky enough to get to work with my good friend Bob Khosravi. Bob is a professional stand up comedian performing out of Austin Texas. I helped him make a sticker for a very unusual and, i think, inspired marketing scheme. His idea was to print up a couple hundred water proof vinyl stickers and place them in public urinals. The stickers would feature an illustration, by me, of bob standing frightened under an umbrella with his website adress plastered underneath. The only downside to this project is that to implement his strategy of his urinal marketing is that Bob will have to place his hands in 250 public pee palaces. So if you’re having a late night of drinking and you stumble into a restroom to make room for more liquid refreshment and you suddenly find yourself peeing on Bob Kosravi, don’t panic. You should relax and enjoy the privilege usually reserved for the selected few. And then you should visit his website, or save you some time and just go here. Easier, yes. But much less fun.

Fun little flyer design that will also probably be used for a t-shirt. It’s for a 5K run in October benefiting ‘Solutions of North Texas.’ And being sponsored by the North Texas Rehabilitation Association. These are good people and if you can make it out, do so!

I have developed an ongoing creative relationship with the great band called Immigrant punk. I’ve done two shirts for them so far, featured below, as well as their logo, which is featured somewhere else on this blog. I love working with and listening to this band. If you haven’t yet seen this band, i suggest you do so. I think they’re great. I am biased of course, but in the best possible way.

With the Dallas Mavericks tearing up the postseason this year, I’ve been inspired to create two Mavs t-shirts. The first is a german crest design in honor of the giant hun who has been challenging NBA records of late and the second celebrates mister 4th quarter himself, the jet. Both of these shirts are available to order from my zazzel store.

Here is a work that I was hired to do based on a concept provided by the client. The client plans on giving this poser to a friend of his as a gift. I don’t get a lot of work like this, non-commercial commissions, but I really enjoyed working on itan d i hope i get to do more. I would have enjoyed it much more had i not been sick this week, also it would have taken me much less time. If you like the Ganesh poster, I will be making it available in my Zazzel online store. It was designed as a 22×16 poster but i might end up putting it on a t-shirt. Enjoy!
the return of the Confederate Walrus!

Here we have the Confederate Walrus making his second appearance on a Tales of Fiction cover. The bastard son of a racially insensitive hill billy from the mountains of west Virginia and a particularly attractive walrus, this creep travels the world spreading his message of southern pride through the use of his two balled up flipper-fists. Because, as this monster is fond of saying, “only queers use words.”
Once again we dip into the vault of nonsense that is the back catalogue of Strange Adventure magazine. Here we have the classic “The Man with the Head of Saturn!” It’s not as brilliant as the Gorilla Witch, I don’t think, but wow. Strange Adventures must have been a pretty great place to work back in the day.
Writer – “Is this idea too stupid to publish?”
Editor – “of course not, can we put an eye patch on him?”
Illustrator – “I just did, high five!”
Even more Tales of Fiction!

Here is the fourth installment in the Tales of Fiction comic cover/T-shirt series. I had originally meant to title this image “Fungus in the Sun–Terror in the Sand!” but thought that maybe the “bikini girls” title was a little more fun than the fungus pun.
I wanted to show an example of the comic book style that I am parodying/celebrating, so i found an excellent example in the DC title “Strange Adventures.” This is also a prime example of how no matter how silly or exaggerated I make my mock covers, nothing can every really top the nonsensical brillance of the real thing. In this issue the Gorilla Witch! Just fantastic.
